ABOUT TRADING CARD DEX™

What is Trading Card Dex?

Trading Card Dex is a free, multi-game trading card database covering 15 trading card games under one platform. Unlike single-game databases, Trading Card Dex lets collectors and players browse cards across Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited, Digimon, Dragonball Super, Final Fantasy, Weiss Schwarz, Gundam, Grand Archive, Riftbound, Flesh and Blood, and Dragonball Super Fusion World.

Trading Card Dex is designed to make card databases fun and interactive. There is nothing more special than holding cards in your hands, and most card databases feel sterile by comparison. That is why Trading Card Dex was built: to bring interactivity to the browsing experience, to get as close as you can to handling cards on screen. Every card features a 3D card viewer that lets you tilt, rotate, and inspect cards as if you were holding them. It is meant to be a resource that celebrates the artistry behind each card.

This is also why it features a grey background, a color that is neutral that also helps the card artistry pop out.

Where Does the Name Come From?

The name comes from TRADING CARD inDEX. Drop the "in" from index and you get Trading Card Dex, or TCDex for short. Trading Card Dex is a registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO Serial Number 99385545) under Class 042, covering database services for trading card information.

How Many Cards Does Trading Card Dex Cover?

As of this year, Trading Card Dex indexes over 100,000 cards across all 15 supported trading card games. The Pokemon database alone contains over 18,000 cards spanning 171 sets across 17 series, from the original Base Set released in 1999 to the latest expansions. Each card entry includes the card name, set, card number, rarity, type, artist, and a high-resolution image with 3D viewing capability.

What Makes Trading Card Dex Different?

Most trading card databases cover a single game. Trading Card Dex strives for a unified browsing experience across 15 different trading card games with interactive 3D card viewing, all completely free.
